ARZU Studio Hope:
Tahirah lives in Dragon valley with her husband and three children. Years ago, the family fled to the Farah Province to escape Taliban violence. The couple and their small children walked for seven days from their home in Bamyan hoping to find a better situation. Sadly, the family still struggled to survive. “We suffered a hard life condition with no permanent job and facilities there,” Tahirah says.
After returning to Afghanistan, Tahirah and her family joined ARZU’s program and have found their lives much improved. “At first, finding a job was very difficult. Fortunately, ARZU helped us by starting carpet weaving to make a job and income for us.” The family has consistent access to health care and all the children attend school. Tahirah attends literacy classes and the bonus money she earns from ARZU allows her to purchase nutritional food and household items for her family. Tahirah has hope for a stable and safe future with ARZU.
