New rug designers are using flat woven rugs as the medium of choice. Previously,a hand tuffted rug was the medium of choice for entry into the designing of rugs. At the NY NOW winter show only established rug wholesalers were showing tufted rugs in designs that seemed, frankly, a little passe when compared to the newer designers. Two favorites were Tantuvi and Azulina Home, but all of the new exhibitors were exciting.
