Tempaper – Chinoiserie

Wallpaper is back.  At High Point Market,  there were at least 5 firms.  Three years ago, when I was last at market, Tempaper exhibited in Suites at Market Square with a small booth.  Three years later,  they were in InterHall with a zen-like exhibit showing multiple wall papers on enticingly lighted panels.

Also in InterHall, French Market’s murals functioned like fly paper catching the walk-byes.  Waiting to talk to Petty Richardson, I watched three ladies, literally tumble past her delicate furniture, rugs, and needle point pillows  to gush over the murals. They placed orders.

Thibaut showed wallpaper coordinated with fabrics in both their spaces.  The Thibaut wallpaper is manufactured by York Wallcoverings, which had a triple booth in Suites at Market Square for the 2nd year.   York was showing multiple wallpapers from affordable ($320.99 retail) for the 108″ x 108″ Dreamscape Mural to Estuary in the Crush Collection at $94.99 for a single roll.

Century and Universal Showrooms both featured Susan Jamieson of Bridget Beari Design.  Conflicting appointments, prevented me from listening to her participation on the panel discussion  The Allure of Southern Style
