What markets or design centers do you attend?
In South Florida, the Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA) and Miromar Design Center in Naples, Florida, provide a great local resource for custom and quality flooring showrooms. High Point and NEOCON are two markets that are comprehensive and invaluable to designers
and specifiers.
Do you have a design philosophy?
I believe the flooring and texture of the carpet establish the basis for every design project.
What is the most important feature to you?
Style, sustainability and durability is the flooring mantra that accompanies my design philosophy.
Do you buy custom often?
For the Williams Island Marina Headquarters in Miami, Florida (shown in the photos), Masland Serigraph Carpet was specified for durability and texture. An Antron Legacy nylon, the tip sheared loop pile pattern complemented the quartz flooring selected for the reception and lobby flooring area carpets with grey suede borders, created by Masland, delineate seating areas in the lobby. The transition to the high traffic areas—hallways, offices, crew room, business center and conference room in the same carpet, provides unity in the Marina Headquarters.
Do you have any favorite fiber?
The sustainability rating of NFS Gold, which signifies that the carpet is 100% reclaimable, Green Label Plus Certification, a LEED requirement for Indoor Air Quality and 10 Year Wear Warranty, are important considerations.
