The process in which these beautifully crafted hides are crafted in Brazil is that after the hide is extracted from the animal, the hide is tanned and then acid washed. Later the finished decor “paper” is pressed onto the fur leaving behind the imprint of the design and giving the design a collage look not easily achieved with other materials.
