[A version of this article appeared in the July 2013 issue of Rug News andDesign Magazine.]

Using a QR code on the four corners of Tamarian rugs, dealers, salespeople, and consumers can see the pictures of the weavers who made the rug.

We have used actual screen shots to illustrate the sequence of steps it takes to get to the pictures, ages of the weavers, and production details of any rug in this program that started in October 2012.

Download a QR Code scanner for your Apple or Android smartphone, and you’re good to go. Please follow these steps to see the inventory available for the rug detail shown.

According to Steve Cibor, principal Tamarian Rugs, “Once you scan the label for a specific rug, it will take you to the stock page which will show you what we have in stock in that particular rug design. You can click on the name of the rug “Planke Raindance” and an image of the rug will come up. You can also click on “Production Details” which will produce detailed information and photos of the weavers that worked on the actual rug.”
