(April 15, 2013—New York, NY)— Stark, America’s top destination for the finest in carpet, rugs, fabric, wallcovering, and furniture, today announced that Scalamandré, the legendary American textile house and marketer of exclusive fabrics to the trade, will move its celebrated collections, along with its sales force, into Stark Fabrics’ spacious 10th floor showroom in New York’s Decoration & Design Building at 979 Third Avenue. The move will be effective May 1.

The combination of Stark’s luxury brands, including Old World Weavers, Lelievre, Missoni, Fonthill and Grey Watkins, with Scalamandré and Colony, presents an unparalleled opportunity to showcase the finest in fabric, wallcovering, trim, hardware and other custom choices in one location. The new partnership will also offer unique service and exceptional quality to the companies’ collective design clients.

John and Steven Stark state, “Scalamandré is a storied brand that will complement the Stark collection perfectly and we are delighted to welcome them into our New York showroom.  For 75 years, the Stark name has been synonymous with the highest quality rugs, carpets, fabric and wallcovering.  We pride ourselves on only delivering the best to our clients.  Scalamandré’s commitment to uncompromising quality will make them a great asset to our New York showroom.”

Louis Renzo, President of Scalamandré, added, “In November, an opportunity arose for Scalamandré to represent Stark Fabrics’ Fonthill and Grey Watkins collections in our Atlanta showroom. It has been a wonderful alliance and, in turn, when Stark Fabrics graciously invited us to display our collection in their 10th floor showroom, it was too good an offer to refuse. Over the years, Scalamandré has been exceptionally fortunate to have the distinguished leadership of its showrooms, agents and sub-agents. We have worked hard to establish and build relationships with the best and the brightest talent available in the marketplace and, with Stark Fabrics, we have found an ideal partner who shares our goals of design excellence and integrity.”
