Apparently three well known designers are chairmen of The Hampton Designer Showhouse. Mario Buatta of New York is the Showhouse Chairman; with Jamie Drake and Alexa Hampton as the honorary co-chairmen. All three are quite renowned for their amazing interiors and captivating personal sense of style.
All have design visions and have worked with distinguished clients around the world.
Mario Buatta is known for his chintz and colors and seeks a balanced room with maximum comfort. Jamie Drake of Drake Design Interiors is said to seek to interject the owner’s personality into the room. Drake has licensed collections with Schumacher and Safavieh Rugs. Alexa Hampton is the president and featured designer of Mark Hampton LLC, the company founded by her father. She currently has licensed collections with Kravat Fabric, Hickory Chair, and Stark Carpet
This year nearly twenty-five designers from neighboring states — including Connecticut to North Carolina are furnishing and designing this incredible showhouse. Lillian August, Ron Fiore, Carolyn Reed, Couture Interiors Corp. and Tobi Fairley of Hickory Chair are a few of those participating this year. A gala preview cocktail party will be held on Saturday, July 23.
